Sales Associate Shift Supervisor

Travel Centre – Driftpile, Alberta

 

Reporting to the Travel Center Manager, the Shift Supervisor works in all areas of day-to-day operations of the DCN Travel Centre Truckstop, such as inventory ordering, maintaining the store image, customer service and the supervision of two assistant store managers and sales staff.

The Shift Supervisor will monitor all controllable expenses and keep them within their assigned budget. They must determine stock needs, interact positively with vendors and customers, monitor receiving goods, maintain store inventory, and minimize waste and shortages.

It is their main clerical accounting duty to reconcile all proceeds from the sale of gasoline and convenience store merchandise on a daily basis. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the store adheres to brand policies and procedures, as well as increase sales.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provide coverage for Assistant Manager.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate staff and their schedules.
  • Train or arrange for the training of new staff.
  • Sell merchandise to customers.
  • Maintain specified inventory and order merchandise.
  • Maintain high customer service environment and resolve customer complaints.
  • Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters.
  • Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of the staff.
  • Operation of cash register.
  • Make Bank deposits as needed.
  • Assist staff to count inventory, at a minimum quarterly.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Experience requirements: 

  • Gas Station Management: 1 year
  • Inventory Management: 1 year
  • Customer Service: 3 years
  • High School Completion or higher
  • Clean Drivers Record
  • Fluency in Cree is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Criminal record and Child Intervention record checks will be required.

  • Strong supervisory skills, inventory management, and financial tracking.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, time management and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of Indian status tax exemption on fuel sales.
  • Good communicator and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Responsible and takes ownership.
